I've configured the gateway (5.0 B2)to send mms from web to phone and (I think) also from phone to phone. SMS from web and email also works fine, as well as 2-way SMS. Only thing I can't do is send mms from phone to email. I've entered a "forward to email" address under the MMS settings under Modem Properties (using 7110 as modem). In the same window, the url for the mmsc is defined.
Messages sent from the phone end up in a subdirectory under the MMSCDATA directory as an ini and an mms file. Any suggestions?

It's normal for them to end up in the MMSCDATA subdirectory when you send from phone to phone.

I'm assuming that what you want to do is have messages received on the phone get routed to e-mail. (Otherwise you could just send a message from the phone to an e-mail address.)

There are a few things that could be going on here ...

1.) MMS might not be enabled on that account with the mobile operator. Instead of actually receiving an MMS message, it might be receiving an SMS message, as the operator thinks the account does not have an MMS phone. (MMS needs to be enabled for the account at the mobile operator.)

2.) The 7110 might have updated firmware that has some support for WAP push. As the MMS notification comes in via WAP push, the phone might be intercepting it.

3.) The configuration might not be correct for the phone to receive the MMS message. The 7110 doesn't support GPRS, so if you are receiving a message from an operator MMSC, you would need to configure a dial-up networking profile to call in to the operator service and retrieve the MMS message. As most operators only publish MMS settings via GPRS, you might not have the right settings to retrieve the message.

Hi Aleem,

You've posted your message in the support forum for the Now SMS/MMS Gateway software product.

Perhaps you should take the time to visit the "Home" page of this web site (http://support.nowsms.com/discus) to learn more about the Now SMS/MMS Gateway. A free trial version of the software is available.

You will need an SMS connection in order to be able to send SMS/MMS messages. A GSM/GPRS modem (such as the Siemens MC35 external modem or the Sierra Wireless Aircard 750 PC card) is most likely the best solution for getting you started.
