Hi

Can the nowsms act as a gateway SMS router type of device.

eg. Have a SMPP connection to SMSC which routes all messages for 5* to the SMSC using SMPP (eg "smsacount1"... have it also receive messages from SMSC (SMSC configured to route appropriately to SMPP connection) to then forward onto specific SMPP connections based on recipient eg. 65*-->SMS User "test1", 66*-->SMS User "test2" where test1 and test2 connect via SMPP also to NowSMS ?

so essentialy, "test1" sends to nowsms from 659999 to 59999 which then gets directed to SMPP connection "smsacount1" and delivered by the SMSC to 59999 handset with correct sender number appearing on recipient handset.

vice versa - 59999 sends to 669999 which the SMSC routes via SMPP to nowsms, then gets directed down SMPP connection to "test2" connection and is delivered to handset with correct sender address.

possible ?

Hi Robert,

Generally speaking, it is possible to configure these types of connections.

However, the issue that you can run into is that there can sometimes be confusion over client/server roles in these types of configurations.

For example, when "test2" or "test1" connects in to NowSMS, it is going to receive messages in SMPP deliver format instead of submit format. Whether or not that is a significant issue depends on the SMSCs...
