I have created some simple sms applications that members of my website can use (like schedule a joke a day..). I use www.bulksms.co.uk to send the sms. I would like to start creating more advance applications like two way chats..
Can anyone tell what SMSC in UK I could use.

Thanks for any advice

Danny

Danny,

When it comes to receiving messages, I usually find that it is easier and less expensive to add a GSM modem to your configuration.

SMS providers that provide both send and receive message capabilities usually charge a significant premium for the receive capabilities (and in quite a few cases, unless you are dealing directly with an operator or an aggregator that is using the services of an operator, they are actually just setting up a GSM modem at their premises on your behalf).

If you don't need to be able to receive MMS messages, a GSM modem can be a mobile phone with a data cable that allows it to act as a modem, or it can be a specialised device like the Siemens MC35 or Sierra Wireless Aircard 750.

NowSMS can be configured to receive messages over a GSM modem connection, and send them out via a different connection.

When NowSMS receives an SMS message, it can call an HTTP script that you configure which processes the received message.
