Hey andy,

The type of message you receive is called a "legacy message" wherein an HTTP url is sent out to the receipient since he does not exist in the NOW product DB.

Hi Andy,

This varies by operator. In most cases, each operator has a database of which mobile numbers are enabled for MMS. When the operator receives an MMS message for a number that is not known to be enabled for MMS, a text message with a link is sent instead (or in NowSMS, a WAP push message may be sent instead).

I have seen one operator implementation where they try to send the MMS notification, and if the message is not fetched, then a couple of hours later they send a text message with a link.
