Hi Frank,

Apologies for the delay getting back to you.

First let me try to explain some terminology that causes confusion.

We refer to our software product as an "SMS/MMS Gateway", similar to how a service like Clickatell refers to their service offering as an "SMS Gateway". But we're really two very different types of offerings.

NowSMS is a software product. We act as a gateway for sending/receiving SMS and MMS messages, but in order to actually send/receive messages, we require a connection to an SMS service provider or a GSM modem.

By contrast, Clickatell is an SMS service provider. They may offer some different interfaces for submitting messages into their service, but their core business is as an SMS service provider. In fact, we have a fair number of NowSMS customers who use Clickatell as an SMS provider for sending outbound SMS messages.

Getting back to your question, the HTTP settings would depend upon the service provider to which you are connecting to send messages. We don't have a preferred service provider.
