Hi! I have an application that talks MM7 and would like to use "Now SMS/MMS Gateway" for test purposes. Is the Ericsson MM7 variant also supported when "Now SMS/MMS Gateway" is acting as MMSC, i.e. the MM7 server side? What version of the Ericsson MM7 variant is supported? Ericsson MM7 VASP Interface R2.5 or R2? Where can I find the Ericsson interface specification/documentation? | |||

Yes. If we receive an MM7 request that is in the Ericsson format, we will return a response in that format.
At present, I know of at least one customer interfacing with R2, and at least one with R2.5. We've tried to use a format that was consistent with both.
That seems to be a challenge. I can see from Google's cache that Ericsson released specifications and an SDK to the developer's area of their web site last November. However, they appear to have been quickly removed ... probably because some developers starting making noise about how the Ericsson MM7 implementation is completely non-standard and should not actually be called an MM7 implementation. As far as I know, it is currently only available under non-disclosure agreements with Ericsson. -bn | |||

Yes, I saw the SDK on the web, I downloaded an early version of it some time ago before it was removed. It was nearly empty and only contained some not so useful documentation. Do you have a contact person at Ericsson that I can contact regarding the interface documentation? I've tried the dev area but without any response. /Mikael | |||

Mikael, No, I don't have any contact information at Ericsson. I have to say that they were most uncooperative in this manner. While we were trying to add support for interfacing to their MMSCs, the party line from Ericsson seemed to be that if our application was not working, then we must not be implementing MM7 correctly. I can tell you that a Java SDK does exist, but I don't know how to get it. -bn | |||
