Hi

We've got an issue regarding sending the Euro character through the iso-8859-1 character set.

Based on the character set table, the Euro character isn't supported and the message appears with a different symbol. By the looks of things though, the iso-8859-15 character set does support the Euro symbol.

Is there any possible way of sending messages containing the Euro character correctly, using any of these character sets?

We've been able to send correctly using the Roman-8 character set that you included in a release sometime ago, but the Operator we're using does not support this character set.

Thanks

Regards

Hi Chris,

Perhaps this provider uses the GSM character set where the Euro character is encoded with an escape character followed by e.

Or perhaps they use a hybrid of iso-8859-1 and GSM where they expect the Euro to still be escaped like for GSM.

I'd suggest configuring the character set for GSM and see if the Euro works. If it does, but others characters are a problem, then it might be a hybrid that we need to find a way to accommodate.

Test various characters with both the GSM and iso-8859-1 character sets configured and let's see what the results are.
