Hello bryce,

Another OTA Question.. :-) for you.

When i use the NOWSMS product to push OTA config settings to the SAGEM, or the new SAMSUNG ( SGH-D410) , it comes on to the phone in the form of a DTD in the INBOX folder.

PL help .

2) Also; since newer phones keep coming into the market , is there some info somewhere which can be used with NOWSMS to push the correct fomat of settings for these phones?

regds,
rahul.

Hi Rahul,

Are you using the OMA settings, or the WAP settings?

You should be using the OMA settings for any phone other than Nokia and (Sony)Ericsson phones.

The "WAP OTA Settings" sends out using the old Nokia/Ericsson OTA specification. Most newer Nokia phones (released in the past year), now use the OMA settings format. Older Nokia phones use the Nokia/Ericsson OTA format. Most SonyEricsson phones only support the WAP settings, although some of the newer models support both.

It is bizarre for a message to be received as a DTD. I haven't had experience directly with either of the phones that you mention. Perhaps that is just how they display a settings message, and there is a menu option to apply the settings?

Also, if you are not sending with a USERPIN specified, try adding a USERPIN and see if that makes a difference. (Some phones insist on having a PIN of some type present before they will accept the settings.)
