Hi Bryce,
I have a distribution list which contains appx 10,000 mobile phone numbers.
If I use the web interface to submit a message to this list, how long will NowSMS take to complete the submission?
Is there any way to test the number of messages being sent by NowSMS without a live connection to SMSC (since that will involve actually delivering the messages to the users which I cannot)?
Also what happens while the messages are being sent? Does the server stay busy and unable to process other 2 way sms or incoming messages which are received during that interval?
Can I run two separate instances of the gateway on the same PC (one for bulk msging and the other for 2 way msgs)?
Thanks

Hi Suvinay,

It's really impossible to estimate because the speed at which the messages are processed is largely dependent on how fast the SMSC will accept messages. (And also dependent on the license for NowSMS. For example, the trial has a limit of 30 messages per minute.)

Your best bet is to construct a smaller test list, and then review the timing in the SMSOUT-yyyymmdd.LOG. Two separate sends of about 100 messages would give you a good idea of the speed.

While the messages are being sent, NowSMS will continue to accept additional messages (and if there are more SMSCs defined, messages would simultaneously be routed across all defined SMSCs). Inbound messages continue to be processed.
