Hi,

Can I use NowSMS to configure the MMSC so I can offer MMS (send and receive) to the end users?

Petter,

Yes, the challenge that you have is provisioning user accounts.

User accounts usually need to be manually provisioned, unless you have operator-like control of your network in which case there is a way to automatically provision users based upon the WAP gateway returning MSISDN information to the MMSC.

When you manually provision users, what you do is add the user accounts to the "MMSC Users" list of the gateway. There is also an HTTP provisioning interface that you can use from an external application, which is described at: http://www.nowsms.com/support/bulletins/tb-nowsms-005.htm.

The recipient phones must then be configured with an MMS Server URL that points to the MMSC, and includes their username and password information in the URL in the format http://mmsc.ip.address/username=password.

If your WAP gateway can provide MSISDN information, and you want to autoprovision users, see: http://www.nowsms.com/support/bulletins/tb-nowsms-002.htm

That bulletin needs to be updated with information about retrieving the MSISDN from Nokia and Ericsson WAP gateways, so if you have questions about those environments, let me know.
