Does anyone have experience with any other gateways besides nowsms? I would like to know of your experiences. Eg visualgsm, kannel, message master xmp, etc why is nowsms better? | |||

I tried several software packages, and comparative to NowSMS they have the following shortcomings: Derdack Message Master: slower with multiple modems, no status reports, no load balancing, very heavy on the CPU. Fancy interface though. HiplinkXS: Claims to support status reports on GSM modems, but I was never able to make it work properly. Extremely slow, poor tech support M-Science SMS Server. Some junk, mainly promoting their own service. Couldn't make an independent connection work at all. Crashed the system a few times SendXMS is probaly a good one, but I never had the nerve to set it up properly, too cumbersome. Message server communication suite - unstable, no debug tools, poor support Note that vast majority of SMS providers including ourselves use custom-taylored progs, either developed in-house or made to order. It appears that NowSMS is one of a very few, if not the only commercial package suitable for high-traffic applications. It is lexible enough do make most of desired features easily implemented. And it is remarkably stable and VERY fast. Never tried Visual or Kennel though. If you did please share your experience | |||

I've tried Visual GSM, heavy requirements but has more features if your looking for a quick solution. Kannel, looks good but I dont use Linux, heard good things about it. Nowsms, fast, low requirements, configurable, loging features need improvement. | |||
