I'm getting a RAS error on the MMSC Routing Test.

I have a laptop with an Option - GPRS Globetrotter. It works fine with the Globetrotter software, this allows an internet connection and SMS sending. However the software can't send MMS - I noticed the nowSMS gatway does this so I downloaded the trial version.

I set up an SMSC entry - clicked TEST and it said it worked.

I went to MMSC Routing and entered the following;

MM1
Server=mms.vodafone.co.uk/servlets/mms
WAP gatway=212.183.137.12
Modem=Globetrotter GPRS Win98-ME-NT
APN=wap.vodafone.co.uk
(I got these settings from my phone)

When I click TEST - I get a windows popup error "Connection Failed, RAS Error 650, The dial up networking server is not responding"

I am running on Win98.

anyone have any ideas?

Do you already have an internet connection open using the Globetrotter software when you attempt this?

That would likely be a problem.

That error code really doesn't make any sense in that context. (But then again, Windows 98 error codes can be somewhat unusual.)

You will see that NowSMS has created a dial-up networking profile named NowSMS - your modem driver name. What happens if you try to use that directly, do you get the same error code?
