Hi,

I'm having problems with the gateway converting WAV to AMR on email to MMS messages. When I send a wav file, the NowMMS gateway doesn't convert it to an AMR file on the cel phone. I have the "Enable email to AMR conversion" checked off.

BTW- I'm using a Sony Ericsson P800 as the cel phone that receives the message

Hi Warren,

Could you enable the debug mode on the MMSC? (Manually edit MMSC.INI, and add Debug=Yes under the [MMSC] section header, then restart the service.)

If you could then repeat the e-mail sending, and post the information that is written to the MMSCDEBUG.LOG ... then that may help us figure out what is occurring.

My initial guess would be that this is a MIME type issue. Most e-mail clients don't encode the MIME types correctly for files like AMR files, so the MMSC also looks at file extensions. Does the AMR file that you are sending have a ".amr" file extension?

Hello Bryce,

Thanks a lot for your help. I found that the wav files had an audio\x-wav MIME type. Changed the program to send using audio\wav and now it works fine.

Cheers,

Warren,

Glad to hear that you were able to find a solution, and I appreciate your taking the time to reply back as this could also help others.

I'll also make a note to ask our developers to look for audio/x-wav in addition to audio/wav.
