Hi, I have tried sending wvsettings to a sony ericsson phone using the Nokia/Ericsson OTA Specification v7.1 (with the <WVSettings> xml tag) and it worked. However, when i tried sending wvsettings using the Nokia OMA Client Provisioning specs, the settings is not received by my nokia 7610. This is the xml that i used. Hmmm ... I tried sending your settings to a Nokia 6820, and they worked just fine. As long as I include a USERPIN in the settings. I know a lot of the newer Nokia phones are requiring that the settings be signed with a PIN. Are you using a USERPIN? Also, just as a sanity check, try sending the e-mail settings to the 7610 from the following thread: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/4261.html Does the phone recognise those settings? How about the SyncML settings in this thread: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/5061.html I'm wondering if you are having a general problem sending the OMA type settings (which would not be the case if you can send the above e-mail and SyncML settings without any problems), or if it is specific to Wireless Village. | |||

for sony ericsson v800/k700i only the email setting works while wireless village & synchml comes up with error? | |||

This does not surprise me, as I haven't seen any documents from SonyEricsson that say that they support using the OMA settings for configuring SyncML and Wireless Village. For SyncML and Wireless Village, they are using the OTA settings from the Nokia/Ericsson OTA Settings v7.1. For Wireless Village, that is the settings with the <WVSettings> tag. And for SyncML, it is the settings with the <SyncSettings> tag. I am impressed that they are now supporting the e-mail settings. Although I have to say that I did just try sending the OMA style e-mail settings to a K700i, and it was ignored. So I would be curious what e-mail settings you sent. | |||

Hi, I am presently in India and using a new nokia 6600 with V 5.27.0 .. I am not able to send MMS .. I got in touch with my SP (Airtel) and they gave me some settings to load , but it still didn't work out ..  .. I heard that N6600 runs with TCP/IP stack and only MMS over HTTP is supported. Also 6600 supports OMA Client Provisioning 1.1. Since the Nokia 6600 runs with TCP/IP stack, there is no need to use WAP Gateway for MMS delivery, but HTTP proxy needs to be used. There is no way to send HTTP proxy settings using OTA 7.0 and OMA CP needs to be used .. Can someone help me in this as i am not sure how to make this all understand to my Service Provider as they are null when it comes to technical terms .. Anyone having a solution for such an issue ??
