Hi, The primary difference between the two products is that they are from different manufacturers. The description is a little misleading in that neither is actually a Wavecom product. They just are using Wavecom modem modules which are the chipset and basic circuitry for each individual modem. Different manufacturers then add the casing, antennas, and other logic such as the USB interfacing to provide a complete product. Personally, I've been a bit hesitant about buying these types of products from eBay, where you can't really be sure what you are getting. The individual modem modules are certainly compatible with NowSMS, it is just a question of how reliable the Windows driver for the USB interface works. I noticed in the description for one of products indicates that they will send a copy of the software driver after receiving payment. Of course the product is useful with such a driver. NowSMS needs to see each modem as a separate virtual COM port. -bn | |||

Follow-up ... I contacted the sellers for both of the items you mentioned. Both confirmed to me that the modem pool devices connect to the computer via a single USB cable. Windows sees 8 separate modems, each with its own COM port supporting GSM 07.05/07.07 AT commands. That is the interface that NowSMS uses. So, based upon this information, NowSMS should work with the modems just fine. -bn |
