I tried on three different machines with windows 7 installed and have the same problem with lots of 314 errors on the smsdebug log. But when i send a txt sms using the browser interface on port 8800 it works without issues. We are using this with pointer tracking software with binary sms. i could see all sms getting struck up in the outbound sms queue. if i stop and start the service i could see one or two sms going out but then the smsdebug log gets filled again with tons of 314 errors..... any help will be appreciated | |||

Hi, Apologies for the delay in response. I know you sent a more complete SMSDEBUG.LOG to one of my colleagues. It is all very odd, as I do not think NowSMS is even trying to send your messages. So I am not sure it would matter whether or not the message was submitted via the web. The error is coming from polling for received messages. Normally that would not stop messages from being sent out, but in this case it is. It is being interpreted as an unexpected error and we are assuming something is wrong with the modem. (Indeed the error code 314 indicates that the SIM card is busy, which makes no sense.) As a first step, disable the “Receive SMS Messages” setting, and outbound messages should be ok. As a second step, after confirming that sending out is ok with receive disabled, re-enable receive support, and try setting the “SMS Message Storage” setting to “Device Memory”. This will stop NowSMS from polling the SIM card for received messages, which is most likely the action that is triggering the error. Why the modem would be reporting an error in this case is a mystery, but I am hopeful that the above will avoid the error. -- Des NowSMS Support |
