Hi Emmanuel,

Unfortunately it is not practical to produce such a list. Huawei itself has released more than 100 different modem models.

That said, most Huawei modems have very similar characteristics, and generally will work well. I would expect either the E173 or E175 to be fine.

A few pointers:

* Avoid models that have any WiFi or hot spot capabilities built into the modem. Those devices have built-in software that blocks full access to the modem. (This is NOT an issue for the models you have mentioned.)

* Check the frequency bands supported by the modem to make sure they are the ones supported by your mobile operator. (Mostly just an issue for North America.)

* If using a Huawei modem with NowSMS, read this article: http://www.nowsms.com/sms-and-mms-with-the-huawei-e160-usb-modem Mobile Partner needs to be running and configured to leave received SMS on the SIM card so that NowSMS can process the messages.

* If you activate a modem with the operator knowing it is a modem, MMS might be disabled for your SIM card because operators assume modems cannot send/receive MMS. It is usually best to use an unlocked modem and activate the SIM in a phone first where you can test SMS and MMS first before moving the SIM to the modem.
