Hi Support,
I want to use the "2 way" function just to send a welcome sms message back to the sender, the command line is working ok without issues. If I check the "Receive SMS messages" and I choose to route SMS to a local user, the software doesn't send the welcome message back to the sender. Is it normal? Is it possible to store the incoming messages in the user inbox folder and to use the 2 way function at the same time for this purpouse?

Your help will be very appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi Davide,

That is normal, and expected behaviour.

There is a configuration setting that can cause both 2-way and user routing to occur. This setting is in all 2012 and 2013 versions of NowSMS.

* SMS Gateway: New SMSGW.INI setting added to cause inbound messages routed to a local user account to also be processed by the 2-way command processor. To enable this log, add DuplicateUserMessagesFor2Way=Yes under the [SMSGW] section of SMSGW.INI. This setting affects both user messages and delivery receipts. The DuplicateUserReceiptsFor2Way=Yes setting is automatically applied when this setting is enabled.

Hi Des,
unfortunately following your suggestion it doesn't work. Se my SMSGW.INI file below:

[SMSGW]
Modem1=COM5:
WebAuth=Yes
WebMenu=Yes
WebPort=8800
SeparateUserQueues=No
ReceiveSMS=Yes
ReceiveMMS=No
PHPEnable=No
PHPAllowRemote=No
ReceiveSMSCharset=utf-8
ReceiveSMSCommand1=* c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /c echo OK @@SENDER@@ Yes
DuplicateUserMessagesFor2Way=Yes
[Modem - COM5:]
ReceiveSMS=Yes
ReceiveMMS=No
RouteLocal=palmi
[Inbound SMS Routing]

Do you have an idea?

Thank you.

Davide.

Hi Davide,

Sorry, it does look like this setting does not work when the "Route SMS to local User" setting is applied.

But, there is another way to accomplish this configuration and use DuplicateUserMessagesFor2Way=Yes.

Remove the "Route SMS to local user" setting that exists for the modem definition. Add a "Phone Number" setting for the modem. (Note that these settings will not be saved immediately and require the "Apply" button to be pressed.)

Go to the "SMS User" account and under "Accept received messages for this user" add the "Phone Number" defined for the modem in the "Recipient address(es) to route to this user" setting.

Hi Des,
with this configuration the 2 way response message goes in the user inbox folder only. The received SMS doesn't go in the inbox folder.

Do you have another solution for me?

Thanks a lot.

Davide.

Dear Des,
I double checked your last configuration suggestions and now it works!

I have another question regarding the address book but I'll open a new thread.

Thank you.

Davide.
