1. Currently we could not send MMS using NowSMS , will need some additional info on configuring the NOWSMS app on PC & Host. Also please clarify on below questions: 2. The MMSC configuration provided in the QSG (http://www.nowsms.com/download/nowsmsquickstartguide.pdf), looks like out dated, The menus are not matching with the exact options shown in the latest version (V2103.11.15). 3. Few devices like latest Android Jelly Bean(4.1,4.2 version) Sony, Samsung, Sony Erisson phones are not detected as USB Modem (The latest PC suit & USB driver phone is already installed), so we could not add the devices to Modem list of the Tool. Can you please let me know if there is any specific settings to enable latest Android phone Modem. 4. Can the External Host name (in MMSC Setting) be any APN or DNS of the external device & can it also be Web based servers who provide MMS service?? 5. Can you please write usage of Require Authentication for web interface in web tab of SMS/MMS gateway application.

Hi, 1. I don't see a question here, so perhaps answering your other questions will help.' 2. You want to send MMS messages via a modem. That guide is not relevant to you. It is relevant to simple MMSC configurations. When you are sending MMS messages via a modem, NowSMS is connecting to an MMSC, NowSMS is not an MMSC. quick start guides #1 thru 3 at http://www.nowsms.com/doc/quick-start-guide are relevant and may help you. This link that explains how MMS works may also help: http://www.nowsms.com/faq/how-mms-works 3. True. Unfortunately as device software has gotten more complex, most devices have dropped support for providing full modem access over USB. The devices might let you connect to the internet over USB ... but no access to SMS or MMS functionality. Generally speaking, if you're talking Android, iPhone or BlackBerry, with very few exceptions, there will not be full GSM modem support. We recommend using dedicated modem devices ... not phones as modems. USB stick modems from manufacturers like Option, Huawei, Sierra Wireless. Simple modem models recommended ... for example if a modem also functions as a WiFi hot spot, it is most likely geared toward internet access, not full modem support for SMS and MMS. 4. As long as it is valid for connecting to an MMSC it can be any APN or DNS. But it needs to be a valid address for an MMSC, you can't just make up settings and expect it to work. It doesn't have to be over a modem, it can be web based, but NowSMS can only connect to MMS services that support one of the MMS standard protocols: MM1, MM4 or MM7. 5. http://www.nowsms.com/doc/system-settings/configuring-the-web-interface-and-smpp -server It means require a username and password to send a message via the web interface of NowSMS. -- Des NowSMS Support

We followed the document http://www.nowsms.com/documentation/quickstartguide/NowSMSQuickStart3.pdf and tried configuring the MMS setting as suggested by you using a Modem (HUAWEI Mobile Connect – 3G Modem ). Airtel 3G Modem - USB Dongle Model No: E1731 After successful device addition, the MMS setting Testing fails prompting “Unable to connect to WAP Gateway” Can you please let us know If the procedure what we follow is correct or not, is there anything else to overcome this error??

Hi, You are connected to Airtel India, correct? We might have a typo in our settings for that operator. Try changing MMS Proxy Address to 100.1.201.172:8799 -- Des NowSMS Support |
