Hi,
We are using nowsms and MMS gateway for the testing. We need to test the Flash SMS in CDMA phones. If we send Class 0 SMS to CDMA phones it comes as Normal SMS.I heard from some people that in CDMA there is no concept of Flash SMS unlike GSM.CDMA models have Display mode working like class0 messages of GSM models.

However, if message are set display mode, it will be set in pdu, but it was not set in pdu.

MSG_DISPLAY_MODE Function
‘00’ Immediate Display: The mobile station is to display the received
message as soon as possible.

Could you please tell how to receive the flash SMS in CDMA network and how to set the PDU for display mode in now sms ?

Hi,

Unfortunately none of the SMS protocols that we use for communicating with an SMSC include any support for setting this parameter.

Basically, yes, this is a parameter that a CDMA SMSC can set when delivering a message ... but what is missing a way to tell the SMSC to set the parameter.

Using SMPP, you might set a TLV parameter to request such a setting. But the SMSC provider would need to define their own custom TLV parameter as there is nothing in any of the SMPP specifications that would apply.

The only way I could see this working is if the SMSC provider has defined a way of signaling this parameter.
