Last night when the log rotated it stopped being written to.
There is plenty of disk space, permissions for the files and directories is good and has not changed.

The server is sending and receiving messages but there is just nothing in the logs since midnight. Is there a way to recover what would have been there (IE is it in memory?) And how do I get them to start being written to

Hi James,

Which log(s)? A debug log or other?

I've never seen reports of this before with any of the standard logs, but I would immediately restart the service to get the log writing again.

If we're talking about a debug log, I would not restart. Instead turn the debug log off, wait a few minutes, and turn it back on.

Definitely restart.

Do the date coded files exist (SMSIN-20160420.log) and are empty, or were they never created?

Did USERS\username\SMS-20160420.LOG get updated?

I don't have any explanation of what could cause this. So, sorry for the questions, we're just looking for a clue.

What version? What is the full directory path to the logs? Is a config setting overriding the default location?

Logs are in C:\Program Files (x86)\NowSMS
There were no configuration changes to move them.
version: Now SMS/MMS Gateway v2016.06.30
The service is running as "Local system account" so no users directory is available.
A restart of the service populated the logs with everything that had been processed since Midnight and it is now writing correctly to the logs.
