I have a sharp gx15 and sharp gx10i
Both phones have an o2 genie sim that is pay as you go with 300 free texts each month

Both phones were working fine in all aspects until last weekend and now

neither phone will allow me to send texts.

It is difficult to pinpoint exactly when the problem first began because at the weekend we had a powercut for 72hrs due to flooding and the phone netwrk was not working well at that time

I can send and recieve mms

I can recieve text

I can call and recieve calls

Just cant text and its drivin my daughter mad

I have contacted o2 numerous times by email and all the suggestion they make have not rectified the problem

Following a sim swap the genie sims will work in a nokia phone.

O2 are saying my phones may be faulty!

I find this a bit of a coincidence when they both stopped sendin text at the same time

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Just a thought

Both phones were unlocked in December

Can it have anything to do with this why the texts have suddenly stopped working.

I have since tried a vodafone sim in the phones and it allows me to text

Plzzzz. i dont know what to try next anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated

Well, this might not have anything to do with NowSMS.

But it is a bizarre problem.

So what happens when you try to send a text?

There is less to configure on a phone for SMS than there is MMS, so there is less to go wrong.

Since the same SIM works for sending SMS in another phone, that tells me that the SIM is provisioned ok to the network.

What I'm wondering about is if somehow the SMSC setting in the phone got changed. Normally this setting is stored on the SIM. I don't know where this setting would be on your phones, but the SMSC address is a phone number, and for O2, I believe it should be: +447802000332

If you do change this setting, note what it was before the change, so that you can change it back.
