Hi.

I'm always using Service Indication for WAP Push through nowsms Web interface. But nothing happens when I try to do the same by "Service Load". I think the mobile phone does recieve something "My screen starts vibrating" but nothing appears on the screen, the Data session is not started and the message just got lost somewhere !

WHat do you think the problem is ?
What solution ?

Thanks

Most likely the phone doesn't support the SL. I've got two phones handy for testing at the moment. The SonyEricsson T68i receives a "Service Load" push and processes it correctly. The Nokia 3650 ignores the message.

Basically, SL messages just aren't as widely supported. The reason for this is security concerns ... after all, a mischievous user could send a WAP SL push to a phone that generates continuous data traffic, unbeknownst to the recipient. At least with the WAP SI, the user initiates the connection, so they can visually see if something mischievous is occurring.

In particular, Nokia has not supported SL in many devices, presumably for this reason.

Nokia publishes a document titled "Nokia GSM WAP Phone Characteristics" that I wish other manufacturers would publish about their devices (you can download it from www.forum.nokia.com). There you will see that many Nokia phones do not support SL ... although based on that document, my 3650 should when it clearly does not.
