Hi, I'm using the nowSMS application to send and receive binary SMS. Sending is not a problem. I can see the complete SMS data in the SMSOUT.log file.
When I'm receiving SMS, the only output where I can see the SMS is in SMSIN.log file, which look like this:
2005-02-02 14:01:46,+151xxxxxxxx,Binary,42414420464F524D4154,151xxxxxxxx
Interpreting the bytes, it says "BAD FORMAT" why?

Anybody knows?
thx

Hi Gipi,

I would not advise using the SMSIN log file for interpreting the results of received messages.

That is what the 2-way command facility is for ... you configure NowSMS to pass the details of the received message to an HTTP script or local executable program.

(If you want binary messages routed through the 2-way facility, you need to use an HTTP script. See http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/357.html)

Alternatively, the received messages are dumped as individual files into the SMS-IN directory.

But as I look at your message, I'm a bit confused. I see what you mean, that message appears to be a text message that says "BAD FORMAT".

What kind of modem are you using? Perhaps there is something strange about the modem?

What else can you tell me about your configuration?
