We are interested in testing the sms gateway for an application that we are considering. We need to be able to have a user dial our number and receive a message that says something like:

Where are you located?
N
S
E
W

The user should be able to scroll down to one of the answers (S for example) and hit send. Then based on the answer that is sent, specific information would be returned to that user.

Is this possible with nowsms?

Thank you

You'd have to send back a WAP Push link in order to facilitate such an application.

So basically, when a message is received, you reply back with a WAP Push pointing to a URL that asks your question.

You can't have a scroll list like you describe from an SMS message. (Before WAP came along, Nokia had a specification called TTML, and I believe you could do simple apps like this in TTML over SMS. But that specification was overtaken by WAP, and I don't think Nokia even implements it any more.)

If you don't want to use WAP Push, your only real alternative is to send a text message that asks the user to reply back with one of the codes listed in your message.

For example, you would reply back with a text message like this:

Where are you located? Please reply to this message with N for North, S for South, E for East or W for West.
