What is the SMSC interface that you are using to send the messages out?

The NowSMS Web Interface. What translation should I use if I use any SMPP client for the character I mentioned.

Hi,

I understand that you're using the NowSMS web interface to submit the message. I am curious what the SMSC interface is that is configured in NowSMS for NowSMS to actually send the message out.

(I am guessing that it would have to be an HTTP interface that you are connecting to, as there is not any ambiguity for the other interfaces. If you are connecting via HTTP to a service provider, does your service provider have any documentation on how to submit extended characters to their service via HTTP, as this would likely be service specific?)

If you were submitting the message to NowSMS via SMPP, you would encode the character as in the GSM table. 7E for ü and 5E for Ü.

no, NowSMS is directly connected to SMSC over SMPP connection.

and i have tried both SMPP and Web-interface with NowSMS to send out the message to SMSC.. but still not able to send any of these characters.. not even the character '$'

any idea?

Unless by some chance you are running an old version (earlier than v4.20), I can't think of any reason that this would occur (if you are running an older version, please download an update).

Let's get a debug log from your system, so that I can try to confirm that everything is being sent out correctly.

Manually edit SMSGW.INI, and under the [SMSGW] section header, add "Debug=Yes". Then restart the gateway service. Send a message with one or more of these problem characters.

Then reply back including an excerpt from the SMPPDEBUG.LOG file. (You can e-mail this to nowsms@now.co.uk, or post it here.)

I'm suspecting that you may need to inquire with your SMS service provider to see if they have any feedback on this issue.
