Hi,

We are testing your MMS-C, no problem so far, great.
Let's start by a simple example - A userA sends two MMSes, MMS1 and MMS2 to the userB. How does the MMS-C identify the MMS1 from the MMS2 when userB will fetch its messages. I suppose that for example the SMS indication for MMS2 arrives before the one for MMS1.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi,

Each MMS notification message goes out with a URL/message ID to identify the message when the receiver comes back in to retrieve it.

Hi,

Thanks for your help. Here is the URL we could trap from the phone to the MMS-C to retreive an MMS.

http://192.168.3.57/20030119/15/8F171BF4.MMS?id=%2b33616349354

Does the id=%2b33616349354 has something to do with the MMS header field "X-MMS-Transaction-ID" ?
What is the difference(concerning Message identification) between the generated file name 8F171BF4.MMS and the id=%2b33616349354 ?

Best regards,
Jean-Michel.

Hi Jean-Michel,

That extra information is the receipient phone number. In the future that will be used for delivery tracking. (At present, it is useful information to find in the logs to determine if a phone is able to connect in to retrieve messages.)
