My carrier (SureWest Wireless) does not offer WAP service however I pay $4 extra for "Data Connectivity" which the WAP browser works if I supply my own wap gateway settings, I've been using WAP Tunnel for a gateway and it works with my carrier with only setting the IP and Ports, I do not have to setup any dialup info, it appears my phone dials #777 when it uses the browser, I can use WAP Tunnel and the Ericsson Developer gateways with no problem but I would like to run my own, I have the WAP3GX gateway running, my router forwarding ports 9200-9201 to my PC, my phone browser setup with my pc's net IP with port 9201 and my phone will not connect to the gateway. anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Robert,

Apologies for the long delay in responding to the post here. I have not been as good at following up on posts here as my colleague on NowSMS support.

Make sure that the router is forwarding UDP ports 9200 and 9201. WAP requests come in over UDP, rather than TCP. It may be possible that your router does not support UDP.

I'd suggest you try enabling the debug log in the WAP proxy to see if it is actually receiving any data. To do this, manually edit WAPGW.INI. Under the [WAPGW] section header, add Debug=Yes. Then restart the service.

Check to see if the WAPDEBUG.LOG shows any packets being received. If not, then the requests are not making it through your router.

Hello,
I am going through a similar issue with my internet and gateway. Whenever I try to connect to the internet (recently) a notice pops up and says that "your gateway is offline" and it is keeping me from connecting. I have a desktop and its brandnew, my internet has been working up until a few weeks ago. I also have the wired DSL and a Linksys router. Its very strange and I'd really like some help.
Thank you.
