Hi,

I followed the description about "Restriction based upon Client IP Address" to have one WAP Gateway and two APN (WAP and MMS).

1) When I use a mobile with an IP address corresponding to MMS APN, I acces only to MMS-C and MSISDN is forwarded. It's ok.

2) When I use a mobile with an IP address corresponding to WAP APN, I acces to all server even the MMS-C (and MSISDN is forwarded). It's not normal.

Is it a bad configuration ?

Hi,

I believe you've corresponded with Lisa and others in our organisation about this ... and we are evaluating ways to provide more flexibility in defining host restrictions.

I do not have any further news regarding those efforts at this time.

But I can explain that what you describe above is normal, expected behaviour.

The idea of the current "simple" restrictions is that the WAP APN allows unrestricted access.

The MMS APN allows only access to the MMSC.

The WAP APN can still access the MMSC (yes, the user would be charged for data access in this scenario, but it is their fault if they have changed configuration settings).

The only "problem" is if you want to forward the MSISDN details on the WAP APN to hosts other than the MMSC. That is not possible, at this time, if one gateway is providing service to multiple APNs.
