We've got a question from a potential customer that goes like this: "Do this product support MAG6? We have a WAP Server that can provide the MSISDN of the customer, so we can charge him if he donwloads something. There are, however phones that do not need a WAP Server to reach WAP pages, because they're capable of working with http, etc. So, we need a WAP Server that acts also as a Proxy, so we can point those new phones to this Proxy/WAP server, and we can charge the customer also in this situation. Is this possible with the WAP3GX gateway?" | |||

Olaf, You almost stumped us on this one. I did a lot of searching to try to discover what MAG6 was. Then, I was discussing this with a friend, and they suggested that MAG6 referred to Openwave's Mobile Access Gateway version 6. Now.WAP would not interface with MAG6, but it could be configured to receive MSISDN information through a RADIUS accounting feed, described in the latter part of the following link: http://www.nowsms.com/support/bulletins/tb-nowsms-002.htm -- Kent Williams Now Wireless Support wap@now.co.uk |
