Hello

This is me again :-)

I've installed the WAP3GX to test some WAP services. The service is Up and running.
I've on the same machine an Appach web server running also. I've put some wml files on the base directory but I'm not able to get into the WAP Gateway and access files.
I think the sittings on my phone are OK. I'm using a CSD connexion to the GSM modem (My old 5110) ...

What do I need else ??

My wml pages are even unreachable with WAP navigator simulator on the same PC !!!

Help please..

You're dialing in to the 5110??? Did you configure RAS on that machine to accept the call? (Or are you expecting the WAP gateway to answer the call ... I could see where you might think that, but the WAP gateway is strictly listening on IP.)

If you really want to call into that particular machine, I'd call into a landline rather than a mobile phone.

Setting up RAS (Remote Access Services) is a bit challenging. Before you try to connect with a mobile phone, I always suggest to people that they try to connect in with dial-up networking from another PC first. It's a lot easier to diagnose what is happening when you're trying to connect from a PC.

When you make a CSD connection from a mobile phone, this is basically a dial-up PPP connection. This is the same protocol used by most dial-up internet accounts, as long as they don't require a script.

Unless you really want to dial into your own machine ... maybe you have a dial-up internet account that you could try using from the phone?

As far as the WML pages go with the simulator ... is the simulator configured to talk to a WAP gateway? Some simulators do HTTP direct and bypass a WAP gateway.

I didn't configure the RAS on the machine, when the call sets up, I just answer from the phone itself and then the connexion goes forward.

The phone displays "Connexion" and after a while it shows an error like "Connexion timed out"..

I don't know what to do !

Thanks

I don't know what to tell you other than it just doesn't work that way.

The calling phone needs to be able to establish IP connectivity. In a CSD environment, you do this by dialing into a network access server (typically called RAS for remote access server).

Once IP connectivity exists, then the calling phone talks to a WAP gatway over the IP connection.

But you need to have an IP connection before you can do anything.

You might be able to use a mobile phone to accept a RAS connection, but usually you would have landline phones accepting RAS connections.
