Hi,

I could Push a URL to user via PPG using WAP Push protocol and xml document associated with it i.e
<si>
<indication href="http://203.115.229.184/wapcontent/andy.mid?ewig_id=1009&content_size=400&bill_flag" si-id="SI/41126/111" action="signal-high">
message
</indication>
</si>
This is done in a simple way (without any binary stuff) by posting the above message via HTTP to a PPG Url.

Now, we have a requirement to send WAP Bookmark thru SMS. Can this be done same way like Pushing URL via PPG without encoding and decoding. I read a lot of documents, some show binary codes and others say its possible but doesnt explain a clear way of doing it.

Please let me know how to do this without using any tools.

Thanks in advance

Vinny,

I can point you to our NowSMS product, which supports the Nokia/Ericsson OTA Specification for sending bookmarks (however, only Nokia phones seem to support the bookmark part of the specification).

Bookmarks are not supported through the PAP/PPG interface, as they are not standard WAP push.

Hi Kent and Vinny,

I have a similar problem. Is it possible to send an URL to phones and force the creation of a bookmark ? on every type of phones ?

Or we must send PUSH SMS and advertise user to bookmark URL.

Thanks for your response and comments.

Hi vinny,
I am also trying to send a message using http post method and a xml document as the message body. The problem i am facing is that i do not know a wap push proxy gateway address and the port number to which this http request should be sent.

Can u suggest a suitable wap gateway address using which i can test the application.

Any help will be appreciated.
Shashi.
