Hi Des, I have downloaded the version of WAP gateway mentioned in forum discussion with subject : Now WAP Gw service restarts itself (v2008.06.03). >>It works perfectly with Microsoft Windows Standard Edition R2. I have configure office internet router and Openwave V7 Simulator to access Now.WAP Gateway. >>>It works perfectly. I have configure my Nokia E72 handphone with telco APN and proxy server (i.e. Now.WAP Gateway) and port (i.e. 9201) for WAP access but not successful (page not found message). Therefore, I refers to forum discussion with subject : Now.WAP Proxy 2009 (Setup) "To configure this, you want to go into Internet, Web, Options, Settings. This is where you can configure the Access Point that is used by the browser. The access point settings include a GPRS APN, WAP Gateway IP address and port. The Nokia E72 does NOT support WAP1/WSP, so you must specify the WAP2/WHTTP port number that has been configured for NowWAP" Question : Currently I have open 9201 and 9200 ports in my office internet router for wap/wsp access and it works for Openwave V7 Simulator. What is/are the protocol(e.g. udp/tcp) and port number(s) for WAP2/WHTTP to configure on office internet router and/or Nokia E72 handphone in order to access Now.WAP gateway behind my office internet router? Thanks in advanced. Regards Philip Teo

Hi Philip, The WAP2/HTTP port is configurable in the NowWAP settings. You can use whatever port you want. (It just needs to be configured the same on each end.) Frequently port 8080 is used. The WAP2/HTTP port uses TCP. WAP1/WSP uses UDP (ports 9200 and 9201). -- Des NowSMS Support

It works! Thanks a lot. NowWAP Gateway software, WAP2/HTTP set to 8000. (since 8080 is used by HTTP Server) Internet router configure to open for tcp port 8000 communication. Openwave V7 Simulator works for both proxy server port 9201 (tcp/udp) or 8000. Nokia E72 handphone works for proxy server port 8000 (tcp) only - as mentione by you. By the way, please note that the running WAP Gateway software can be stopped properly when stop button is pressed under Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition. Have a nice day. Best Regards, Philip Teo |
