Hi, We are setting up NowSMS as our main MMSC and NowWAP as wap gateway. FYI we are setting up a new GPRS network and unfortunately the switch provider doesn't experience with NowSMS/NowWAP. My question is it possible to provide an example or explanation on how this is all come together. What we tested successfully so far 1. SMS - all working ok 2. MMS - sending from mobile to mobile with user configure on now NowSMS ok 3. MMS to email with use setup on NowSMS ok 4. Internet connections - ok but not sure whether it goes via NowWAP or goes direct. 5. Normal email - ok. What we are trying to do now is 1. How make it work without configuring user's on NowSMS. 2. Where does NowWAP fit into all this and how to make it work Questions/Thoughts 1. How does NowWAP works together with NowSMS in a provider environment. I know it's a WAP proxy but a) how to configure the mobile device to use it. We use a nokia handset for testing. b) is it normal to configure the GSN send all request to a WAP proxy like NowWAP. c)The way MMS work when we tested it was on the phone the home page of the Multimedia access point was set to http://nowsms:port/username=passwd d) On the phone there's another access point for WAP and a different one for internet. This confuses things. e) What we are trying to do is to make all out going goes through the WAP gateway so it can send the header to MMSC so we don't need to add users on the MMSC (as describe in NowSMS document). Sorry if the question are in bits and piece but those are the things which we are trying to figure out. Really appreciate any help on this. Thanks.

Hi, Please disregard this question. Sorry should have read the whole support postings. I saw most of what I am trying has been covered on an earlier discussion. Thanks.

Hi, If you have any remaining questions, please let us know! It is very normal for the MMS settings on a mobile device to include a proxy setting. (I've yet to see published MMS settings for a mobile operator that do not include a proxy setting.) -- Des NowSMS Support |
