Hi NOWWAP support, Can we ask your assistance for the below issue In the radius log on wap gateway 1 , the entries are duplicated I check on Ericsson radius server : mean 2 000 000 daily entries ( correct for Wap Gateway 2 , double for Wap Gateway 1 ) I check on Ericsson radius server : one send only to Wap Gateway 1 , Wap Gateway 2 FOR WAP Gateway (WAPGW1 and WAPGW2) with Local Replication Setup through the load balancer. What ip configuration is needed ? Does the configuration the same for a Load Balance Setup? (What do you think it's better to use only one IP address for Wap Gateway with local replication through the load balancer ? ) Hoping to hear from you soon thanks | |||

Hi Ronald, Please clarify the following points:
The RADIUS server is sending to both WAP gateways?
Is the load balancer configured to replicate the RADIUS packets to both servers? Is one of the NowWAP servers configured to forward the RADIUS packets? (RadiusForward1 parameter in WAPGW.INI?) Obviously something is duplicating the packets for one of the gateways, but it's hard to guess where this is occurring ... we only see that it is occurring. Maybe a tool like WireShark can be used to determine where the duplicate packets are coming from? Hi Des, To answer the questions Yes : "The RADIUS server is sending to both WAP gateways" No : "load balancer configured to replicate the RADIUS packets to both servers" No : "one of the NowWAP servers configured to forward the RADIUS packets" Network load balancer rules : only port 1026 , 8080 , 9201 Hoping for your kind response, this is a different issue. thanks | |||

Hi Ronald, I'm not sure what to suggest. If the WAP gateway is logging each RADIUS packet twice, then it is receiving it twice. The RADIUS protocol does allow for retransmissions, so maybe the server isn't seeing the ack response, and is retransmitting. Or maybe there is a bug in the server when more than one RADIUS client is configured. I don't see anything in the NowWAP configuration that could be changed ... as it is only the receiver. Here's what I'd suggest for troubleshooting. Change the order of the multiple RADIUS clients in the Ericsson server. See if the problem stays the same or changes servers.
