I am new in this technology but I have knowledge in security System. So did you try to alow this port in first position access in your IP filter, firewall or router something like this. because your vx7000 phone has to be allowed by the linksys router.

it's mean my friend that you have to make filter on your firewall, gateway or router as first position vx7000 IP@ or the port which you use in this service. you can find this proprieties in exception, and add port or service if you have not IP@ filter.

Travis, I've got the Gateway working well with a VX7000. Do a few things just so we can find out if it's working and let us know what system you're running...like Windows XP? What is your router model? (e.g., WRTG54, BEFSR41 etc.) Do NOT list your real IP address here...just for security sake. 1. Shut down the firewall on your PC for testing. 2. Verify that port 8080 or another port is being forwarded to your computer in your router...it is a reasonable protection to use some non-standard port number so people don't get instant and easy access to your WAP gateway. You should be seeing something like 8080 forwarded to 192.168.1.100 (Your PRIVATE network address.) TCP/UDP can both be checked. It is MUCH better to give your computer functioning as a Gatway a STATIC IP ADDRESS...but it isn't absolutely necessary for testing. 3. Verify your (PUBLIC) IP address by going to http://www.showmyip.com 4. Check the settings in the NOW WAP gateway... -is 'Run as a Service' checked on the 'Service' page? -is 'Restrict access to the gateway' checked? If it is, uncheck it for testing purposes. You can limit access later. -is anything else checked on that page to Route connections via external proxy service. Uncheck 'em. On the HTTP page -Enable HTTP Proxy (checked!) -the same port that is 'forwarded' in your router should be listed as the HTTP Proxy Port - Enable Compression (check!) - Enable WTCP Extensions (check!) - Allow SSL/TLS (Check!) nothing else should be checked on that page. Other pages should not have anything checked or entered. IN THE PHONE: Check to ensure you have entered your PUBLIC IP ADDRESS (that you got from showmyip.com) as the WAP Gateway. Make sure the VX7000 Primary Port matches the port number you entered on the 'HTTP' page in the NOW WAP Gateway. Make sure the homepage is set to a qualified WML site, like one you created at tagtag.com http://tagtag.com/myname/ ---------------- If it still doesn't work. Have a friend try to "ping" your IP address to make sure a firewall isn't preventing a connection. Hope that helps. |
