I wish to be able to route SMS messages for particular numbers (eg +98*) to a specific user via SMPP (so that I can then do some additional processing and logging for test purposes). How do I set up the lite version of the product to do this. I have tried to set up a rule for this - but I do not seem to get the messages routed to this user account. please advise.

Hi Neil,

When you define the user account under "SMS Users", you should be able to check "Route received messages to this user" and put +98* in the received number field.

I haven't tried this with the Lite version myself, but it should work the same way.

doesn't seem to work at all. I see all +98 numbers still sitting on the Q rather than being routed to the appropriate user.

Please can you explain how the settings in the users tab - route messages via SMPP and the 2 way route inbound messages to user work together.

Due to travel, a detailed response will not be available until tomorrow.

I will say that I do not understand what is meant by sitting on the queue. Are these messages actually in the Q folder? Is so, please post content of one of these files and also post SMSGW.INI so that we can understand any routing defined.

Make sure you put +98* in that field (don't leave out the *)

I am still unsure what is meant by "sitting on the queue". Where are these messages sitting?

I took a look at the logs that you posted in the thread at http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/33365/42093.html

And from what I can see ... +98 messages are being routed to a user account named debug.

Yet, when I look at the SMPP log, I never see a user named debug login. I see test, test2, integrate and neil ...

If the SMPP user never logs in, there is no way for messages to be routed to them.

Route messages to user via SMPP takes precedence over 2-way SMS commands. If a message gets routed to a local user account via SMPP,,it will not get processed by any 2-way commands.

ok - we have had problems with the routing, not being sent to the debug user, even when logged in. We now seem to have that resolved - why, not clear we did not change the routing rules. We now do not get any messages incoming from the modem routed to the designated user. Ideally we want to route to test2 user, but I have been tryign with my test account (neil) which was previously working fine, but now is not. Assistance in diagnosing and understanding your application asap would be appreciated.

what logs/files do you want to diagnose?

fixing the SMSGW.INI config looks like it's fixed this issue. Thanks
