Hi. I'm trying to send MMS from a GPRS Modem with a Italian operator TIM sim card, but I always get the error: Retry - 1 attempt(s) - MM1 - Timeout waiting for response The modem works fine, I get successful result on the "test connection" under the Modem settings and the sim is able to send MMS messages with cellphone without problems. I also tried different sim card, but nothing. Have you got any idea? In the past (few month ago) I could send MMS without problem with the same settings. ps: is there an update or a pach for NowSms Lite Ed. (2009-07-17) ? Thanks. Best regards. Paolo Giuliani

Hi Paolo, There is an update, but I don't expect it to make any difference. (Redownload and install the trial, and it will recognise an existing license: http://www.nowsms.com/download-free-trial) If it was working before, I suspect that your mobile operator updated their WAP gateway to a product that doesn't properly support WTP segmentation and reassembly. We do have some settings that allow these parameters to be tweaked, but I think it would be better to switch to using the operator's WAP2/HTTP proxy. Change the "WAP Gateway Address" setting to http://213.230.130.89:80 ... be sure to include the http:// prefix, as this signals that the WAP2/HTTP proxy is being used. -- Des NowSMS Support | ||||

Problem solved. With http://213.230.130.89:80 it works. Do you advice me to update to the last version of NowSms Lite Ed.(2009-07-17) ? Are there bugs or security issues addressed? Thanks. Best regards. | ||||

I don't think there's a compelling need to update. Most of the changes don't apply directly to NowSMS Lite, but apply to more complex configuration issues of the full featured product. If I recall correctly, there are two main problems that NowSMS Lite users were affected by that are addressed in updates. One was an issue where if you are using the SMPP Server interface (your application acts as an SMPP client), there was an issue with some modems that kept NowSMS from routing received messages to the SMPP client. The other was an issue where 2-way command responses would not get sent out on some systems. I believe it was only some Windows XP systems that were affected. I wouldn't expect any problems if you do update, but I don't think there is any compelling need to. -- Des NowSMS Support | ||||
