Hello, We are running the 2010.02.10 licensed version of nowsms lite. The PC running the software is connected to a GSM modem. Using the software, we are able to send outbound smss. We have configured the software for inbound sms as well to initiate a HTTP request on an sms. However, when an SMS arrives, the sms does not seem to be reaching the nowsms service. I cannot see any inbound smss in the logs. The smsdebug log(on the serial# page) also does not reflect the incoming sms. Any pointers to solve this issue? | |||

Hi, What is the GSM modem being used? Is it a Nokia phone by chance? Unfortunately the GSM modem implementation i n Nokia phones is incomplete and only supports sending, not receiving. Unfortunately the only solution is a better GSM modem. These days, dedicated USB modems can be found relatively inexpensive. The GSM modem is a Sony Ericsson W810i phone. I had used the same phone earlier with the Nowsms full version(trial), and it had worked fine with the inbound sms flow. | |||

Yes, that phone should be ok for receiving SMS via the modem interface. Try changing the "SMS Message Storage" setting to device memory and see if this helps. If it does not, I'd like to see an SMSDEBUG.LOG to see if it provides any clue. | |||
