Hi, I'm have an issue with the nowsms service which is always trying to connect to the wrong modem. I have a usb key HUAWEI. I tried aleady to change the COM port of the modem to allow smslite to connect to it but it looks like he's trying to connect to another one (#2) In attach, how I have it in the server manager  | |||

Hi, Do you only have one modem? It looks like something odd is happening with the modem and Windows is detecting it as a new modem and installing it as an additional modem. Previously NowSMS was configured to use a modem installed as "#2" ... but now the only modem defined in the system is "#3". If the modem id keeps changing, NowSMS can't really keep guessing what modem to use. (Well, I suppose with extra programming effort, we could ... but fundamentally, something is wrong with the system behaving this way.) My advice would be to remove all modems and uninstall all Huawei software. Then try reinstalling ... the latest Huawei modem software can be found here: http://consumer.huawei.com/en/support/downloads/index.htm Search for ClientSoftware (all one word) and the WIN8 version is for all versions of Windows. (They don't make it easy ... the ZIP contains an ISO CD image ... but you can extract it with WinRAR if you don't want to burn a CD.) After installing the modem, reboot a few times to see if the problem with the modem being redetected as a different device still occurs. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||
