I couldn't find in the UI to input a phone number to be associated with a modem in NOW SMS Lite. But the same is available in NOW SMS Gateway.

Is it possible to perform this configuration via configuration property files in Now SMS Lite?

Thanks and regards,
Mohan

Hi Mohan,

Apologies for the delay in response.

We do try to automatically read the phone number from the modem in NowSMS Lite, but this is not always supported.

It is still possible to manually configure the settings in the configuration files.

But keep in mind that doing so will not allow you to change the sender address for messages that you send. When you send an SMS message with a modem, the operator SMSC will always set the sender address to the number associated with the modem, and you cannot override this.

So the setting has somewhat limited use ... in the full NowSMS, the configured setting is used primarily to select which modem to use when sending a message.

To configure the setting for SMS, edit SMSGW.INI and under the appropriate [Modem - Driver Name] header add PhoneNumber=xxxxxxxxxxx

To configure the setting for MMS, edit VASPOUT\nowsmslite\VASP.INI and under the [VASP] header add SenderAddress=xxxxxxxxxxx
