i have tested different mobile phones of different android version. android 2.3.4 / 4.0.4 : 2~3 sec per sms android 4.4.4 / 4.3.x : 5~6 sec per sms it seems to me that lower version android is faster. it is very difficult to buy lower version android phone now. pls advise | |||

Hi Peter, I can't say that we've noticed any performance differences between Android versions. But performance can vary quite a bit from device to device and network to network. I just tried a Note 3 on 4.4.2, and it was averaging about 1 sec per SMS ... but it is on LTE. A Moto E on 4.4.4 using HSPA is more n the 2 to 3 sec per SMS range. The only thing I can advise is that under 4.4.x, you usually want to use the "Hide Messages from SMS App" button (sets as default messaging app), otherwise Android adds all messages to its database, which can have performance implications. -- Des NowSMS Support | |||

NowSMS talks to the Android device over WiFi, but (with a few exceptions) the device uses a different protocol to send SMS and MMS over the operator network. Our experience has been that this protocol affects performance more significantly than Android version. But perhaps there are other factors with different Android versions on the network you are using. | |||
