Hi,

For NowSMS Lite: Is it possible to start a windows program depending on the content of a received text message (for example for adminstrating servers)?

Thanks!

Hi,

You can start a Windows program, but it runs in the context of a background service.

So generally command line programs/scripts work. For those types of programs, whatever is written to the screen can be sent back as SMS.

There's a great old VBScript example here: http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/333.html

And we recently posted an example that takes text from a received SMS to add a new row to an Excel spreadsheet: http://www.nowsms.com/2-way-sms-access-microsoft-office-excel-and-vbscript

Command line scripts like VBScript and JScript work best.
