When you send an MMS message from the mobile phone, does it make it as far as the NowSMS server? (Check the MMSC-yyyymmdd.LOG files when you do a send attempt.)

If not, then your connectivity settings on the phone (GPRS APN, WAP Gateway/Proxy) do not provide connectivity that allows you to connect back to the NowSMS MMSC.

Assuming that the NowSMS server is truly accessible over the open internet, it may be an issue that your mobile operator blocks non-standard ports. And you might have to set your MMSC up on port 80 (the standard HTTP web port) ... or often they will allow 8080 to be used as an alternate.

Please also refer to http://www.nowsms.com/howmmsworks.htm for an overview of how MMS works. Many mobile operators block external MMSC message delivery by pre-configuring a separate GPRS APN for MMS use in their phones ... this APN does not support connectivity to external MMSCs ... meaning that you get the notification, but would be unable to access the content. See the link I referenced above for more information/explanation.
