Hi, My problem is that I can neither send nor receive MMS, not even using the Openwave phone emulator. Here's the configurations I did. For the SMSC, I chose SMPP and used smpp.activexperts-lab.com with port 2775 and I was able to receive an SMS sent via the web interface. I was also able to receive a binary message. However, I could not receive a WAP Push Message. I have defined the settings for the MMSC and MMSC users. I am using a Nokia 6600 phone in Lebanon with the operator MTC. I created new access point based on the settings of the operator and let the gateway be my IP address so that to use the NowWAP gateway. I was able to browse the internet on my phone. Now I edited the settings for the MMS again based on those of the operator. I sent an MMS to another phone but it didn't reach. I used the web interface to send an MMS to my phone but I got nothing. I tried sending an MMS to the gateway using the Openwave Emulator but failed. Can anybody tell me what is wrong?? | |||

Hi, Generally speaking, the first thing I would do is forget the emulator. I haven't tested recent versions of the Openwave emulator ... but my experience with past emulators is that they do not emulate the actual over the air interface for sending/receiving MMS. Recent Openwave emulators have has an SMSC interface, but the protocol that they speak isn't SMPP. And I believe they use some other proprietary protocol talking to the MAG MMSC. So, it's better to focus on real phones which have to work in the real world. Let's take your Nokia 6600 for example. What happens when you use it to send an MMS to yourself. Does that work? |
