Dear Supporting team, I would like to ask you that can Now SMS Gateway can connect Wifi without Interent connection? It is because I have tried to connect wifi without Interent connection, but it is not successful. Thank you.  | |||

Hi, Many WiFi routers do not bridge UDP broadcast packets between 2.4G and 5G radios (or between wired and wireless devices), which is probably why the modem connection is failing. Generally speaking, we do not recommend this "Local WiFi" connection. Use the "Remote Direct" connection instead. These connection types are not named well, so do not be concerned that I am telling you to use the "Remote" setup for a local connection. "Local WiFi" does not actually require WiFi. "Remote" can be used locally. The "Remote Direct" setup requires that the NowSMS server have a fixed IP address ... in other words, a DHCP reservation so that it always receives the same IP address (e.g., 192.168.2.2). On the Android/Modem side, you configure the IP address of the NowSMS server. The Android app initiates a connection to the NowSMS server, always using that IP address to connect, so that they can maintain a constant connection. Regards, Bryce Norwood NowSMS Support | |||
