How can I connect smartphone emulators running on 2 different PC's in a LAN using nowSMS and send sms between them. I have a proxy settings on both the emulator and I could browse the internet and even I could access the Now SMS server page on my emulator. But I am not at all able to communicate to the other emulator. Please help me in this regards. Waiting for your fast response. Thanks & Regards Manish Raj | |||

Hi, SMS is not a TCP/IP based protocol. So an emulator running on a PC cannot perform real live SMS functionality. If an emulator provides any SMS support, it is generally a proprietary protocol specific to the emulator. (And most just don't even try to implement it in the emulator.) MMS is a similar issue, but it can be sent purely over IP ... if the emulator supports it. See http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/485/4184.html. But, if you're not writing the emulator, my experience has been that emulators written by the big vendors do not support what is described in the above thread. -bn |
