To include a vCard in an MMS message, you simply include the vCard file as one of the objects in your message. By default, NowSMS expects vCard files to have a ".vcf" extension. But the original posting raises a valid point ... how to send Chinese characters? I think the original poster was talking about the "Send WAP vCard" option in the web interface, instead of MMS. But I see issues in NowSMS relating to both, when it comes to many foreign character sets (including Chinese). The "Send WAP vCard" issue is an interesting one. Our JavaScript purposely blocked many characters because we weren't sure how to encode them. But I did some research today, and the result is an updated web form with more intelligent JavaScript, so that it can handle Chinese characters. I've uploaded the updated web page to http://support.nowsms.com/discus/document/vcard.zip. Simply unZip and place in the HTML subdirectory of NowSMS to activate. How about MMS? Well, basically you have to encode the name in UTF-8 characters ... and instead of an "N:" prefix, use "N;CHARSET=UTF-8:". For example: BEGIN:VCARD VERSION:2.1 N;CHARSET=UTF-8:Smith, Mike (祝好运) TEL;PREF:+5551234 END:VCARD Just make sure that you encode the actual name data with UTF-8 encoding. -bn |
