Hello there,

I am using the trial version of yours until you send me the serial number, and I have the following problem.

I am currently using a Nokia 7110 mobile phone as the smsc. It works perfect and everything.
When I try to add a second one with an answer of succesful operation, then everything work great except when some user tries to send an mms to another mobile user. The recipient user never gets the message. From the logs I can see that the sms notification has been send but the recipient mobile phone does not try to connect through gprs to get the message.

By removing the second modem, then everything work great again.

What might be the problem here? Note that I have replaced the second modem with other two the same models and the same happens.

Thanks

Hi Philippos,

We've already corresponded with this through e-mail, but I wanted to post a follow-up here for the benefit of others.

The problem that Philippos is experiencing is related to the use of concatenated SMS. Most MMS notification messages require 2 SMS messages to be sent (for techniques to reduce MMS notifications to a single SMS message see http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/641.html and http://support.nowsms.com/discus/messages/1/417.html).

A problem can occur if the different parts of a concatenated SMS message are sent out via different SMSCs, especially when using GSM modems (where you cannot set the sender address). The receiving device may not recognise the parts as being related because they come from a different sender address.

We are working to produce a patch that fixes this problem, which would also affect other types of concatenated SMS messages, such as OTA.
