I did the following on my winxp sp2: Connected my Nokia 7250 via USB (com3) after installing the DKU-5 driver, Installed the Now SMS trial version to the default location, Launched the product and immediately added a new SMSC (GSM modem or phone), put in COM3 (no pin) and clicked "test". After 2 seconds I got the usual "application error" screen: "smsgw.exe encountered an error...." I closed the screen. It appeared 2 more times and that's it - the gateway was no more. what is going on?? | |||

Sorry, this is an old posting that I missed. I suspect that there is a problem with the modem driver itself, not necessarily with NowSMS. If you go into Phone & Modem Options in the Control Panel, and go into the Modems/Diagnostics area, are you able to query the modem, or does it hang or encounter a similar type of error? I suspect the modem driver needs to be uninstalled and re-installed. -bn |
